And sure, there may be a corpse in every rosebush but at least those roses are the envy of all the other villages in the county - no doubt thanks to the green thumbs of our florist Winifred Frank (RIP). Her blood and bone fertiliser mixture must have a doozy of a secret ingredient…
MURDER IN THE MARKET: A MURDER VILLAGE Improvised WHODUNNIT
Our two new Melbourne Fringe productions are on sale now!
First up is a return to Murder Village in a brand new show set against the heritage-listed backdrop of Meat Market in North Melbourne. Murder in the Market places the classic English village market in the foreground. From arts and crafts fairs to pagan festivals, renaissance fairs and parish bakesales, the English fete is one of the great British traditions… as is cosy murder mysteries. Join us each night at a different market place, and offer your suggestions to inspire the ins-and-outs of the mystery.
And excitingly, after we have finished in Melbourne we are taking Murder in the Market on the road… to Ballarat! Catch us at the Ballarat Mechanics’ Institute from October 22-24.
COUNTRY HOUSE: AN IMPROVISED COMEDY OF MANNERS
In the final week of Melbourne Fringe, Murder Village is proud to present a brand new show inspired by one of Britain’s other favourite genres: the comedy of manners.
Country House: An Improvised Comedy of Manners is unlikely to feature any murders - unless you count the withering put-downs and acidic barbs slung back and forth by the scandalous characters at the centre of this improvised tale. Join five wealthy socialites on a weekend away in the country - ably attended to by Weeves, the butler - where their relationships and fortunes depend on your suggestions.
